KNOWN (THE MIXTAPE)
Known is North Philadelphia's unsung networking hero. At his very own recording studio, Known Studios, he's engineered and collaborated with the best of the best emcees in Philly, including the likes of: former Bad Boy artist E. Ness; Southwest Philly's Reed Dollaz; Quilly, Joey Jihad and former Rocafella artist Peedi Crakk. And that's just to name a few.
He has two albums on iTunes: Known Forever and the collaborative EP, A Glimpse of Reality with songstress Bianca Siano. Here, all while launching his exclusive new venture of Known Radio, he's released his self-titled mixtape, Known.
This project is a reflection of where he comes from, which is North Philly's Hunting Park section. He bigs up Hunting Park with a fire anthem called 'Come From.' He even enlists the help of fellow HP representatives, Sanchez (formerly Goody Gunz) and Frank Mula on the track, 'I Claim King.'
More special guests featured on this mixtape include North Philly's legendary lyricist Peedi Crakk ('You Got It' Produced by Conway); and long-time labelmate Johnny Pesos (Alphabet City) and G-Unit Philly artist Ive Vegas on 'Feel the Rush,' a track completed before their unfortunate incarcerations.
Known is one of the busiest and yet still under-rated artists in the city. And with his current and trendy jump into the radio/podcast field, dropping this hot summer side-project shows that he still has more tricks up his sleeve to showcase his own versatility in creating projects and opportunities for himself and many others.
