The reason behind HOTSPANIX presenting The Lost Tracks is due to the project being compromised of music that was either submitted by Philadelphia's Latin Artists or great music that was released by the artists themselves - but was missed by the public and should be given another shot for our audience to listen to. Through the years, we've raised awareness for Philly's Latin Artists and DJs through our social media outlets (click the links on top of the page to check 'em out). In 2008 through 2010, we released three mixtapes on the weekends of Philly's Puerto Rican Day Parade, where we went into our crowded streets of North Philly and handed them out; and we told people to check out artists from our area that were worth listnening to. We eventually posted those mixtapes on DatPiff. Unfortunately, timing wasn't on the best of terms with us to continue the tradition, but this is a compilation that does justice to that void that we mistakenly left behind.
On this project, we put a spotlight back on the artists that we've supported through the years. We're sure that we will produce a sequel of the same concept because there's still more music that we would like to put on the forefront in Philadelphia's music scene. For now, we're releasing the track list of this long-awaited mixtape featuring independent influences such as NOX, Rockie Rey, Myke Storm (collectively known as The Ghostwritaz), SAGA (now of Peso Bag Cru), Murda Mics, Known and Philly's rap princess Mz Lynx. We've also included artists that have been slaying the street scene for the past few years like Goody Gunz, Di$E, Rob Diddy and Hollywood Haz. Additionally, there's epic productions from Etunez, Brown Starr, Rob DiIoia, Strophic, iBronson and multi-platinum selling and award winning producer Sarom Soundz.
